THE TAKE

Dynamo Moscow faces Telindus Oostende knowing it must bounce back from a tough road loss if it hopes to remain atop Group F as co-leader. Coach Svetislav Pesic's Moscow got beat by 19 points at Beghelli Bologna to fall to 4-2 - good for a first place tie. Dynamo forced 27 Bologna turnovers but unfortunately handed the ball back to the Italian side 30 times in a very sloppy game. Pesic's defense also allowed Bologna to shoot 56% from the field and struggled to just 5-of-20 (25%) from long range in the loss. All told, Dynamo tallied just 62 points - 27 points below its average coming in. Point guard Milos Vujanic scored 13 points to lead the way while power forward Antonis Fotsis had 11 and reserve shooting guard Henry Domercant chipped in 9 points, 4 assists and 4 steals. Pesic knows his offense must get back into gear as the team faces an important test against Oostende. Red Star is even with Moscow atop Group F while Telindus is one of three teams which are 3-3 and waiting for the leaders to slip up. Coach Sharon Drucker's Oostende moved to that mark with a comfortable victory at home over Panellinios. The Belgian side forced 20 Panellinios turnovers and won the rebounding battle 31-19. Guard Sam Van Rossom had a complete game with 18 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals while three other players scored in double figures, including reserve point guard Titus Ivory, who had 16 points and 4 assists. Drucker's troops won the Week Two matchup with Moscow at home by six points, primarily because they held Dynamo to just 41% shooting for the game. That would go a long way in helping Oostende beat Moscow. But this Dynamo team will be hungry after a loss. Expect a top-notch battle.

Dynamo Moscow got closer to reach the elimination rounds in competitive Group F by thrashing Telindus Oostende 104-84 in the Russian capital on Tuesday. Dynamo keeps tying atop the Group F standings with a 5-2 record and will likely need another win to advance to the elimination rounds. Meanwhile, Oostende dropped to 3-4 and ties for the fourth spot with Beghelli Bologna. Both teams face each other in Week 8 in Belgium. Henry Domercant led the winners with 28 points on 6-for-7 three-pointers. Travis Hansen added 26 on 6-for-8 triples while Sergey Bykov had 17 for Dynamo, that hit 16-for-28 shots from downtown. Elvir Ovcina led Oostende with 18 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Chuck Davis added 13, Veselin Petrovic had 12 while Sam Van Rossom and Titus Ivory each got 11 for the guests. Bykov and Hansen fueled a 8-0 run that gave Dynamo a 23-15 lead early in the game. Domercant and a red hot Bykov soon boosted the hosts' margin to 44-26 midway through the second quarter. Oostende found a go-to buy in Ovcina, who singlehandedly brought the guests within 50-40 at halftime. Ovcina got some help from Petrovic and Jerry Green to bring Oostende back in the game, 65-61. Hansen led a 10-2 run to give Dynamo some air at 75-63. A red hot Domercant allowed Dynamo to extend its margin to 89-69 and cruise to a well-deserved win.

Van Rossom and Petrovic stepped up early to keep Oostende tied at 5-5, but Robertas Javtokas and Hansen fueled a 6-0 run that gave Dynamo a 11-5 lead. Ovcina stroke from downtown while Davis added consecutive baskets to get Oostende as close as 13-12. Ovcina soon tied the game again, 15-15, with a free throw, but Bykov and Hansen had 7 points in a 8-0 Dynamo run that gave the hosts a 23-15 lead. Antonis Fotsis stroke from downtown to keep Dynamo ahead, 26-18, after 10 minutes. Oostende kept struggling to score early in the second quarter. Meanwhile, a red hot Bykov stroke from downtown, then followed Niksa Prkacin's basket with a three-point play and soon added another basket to break the game open, 36-22. Domercant capped a 10-0 run with a triple, making Oostende call timeout at 39-22. Green stepped up for Oostende, but Domercant and Hansen still kept Dynamo way ahead, 44-26. Ovcina stepped up with 6 quick points and fed Green for a layup, good for a 49-36 Oostende deficit. Petrovic and Green brought the guests even closer, 50-40, at halftime. Van Rossom kept the guests' comeback going after the break, as he followed a triple with another basket for a 54-45 Oostende deficit. Domercant made free throws while Fotsis added a put-back layup for a 58-47 Dynamo edge. Milos Vujanic stroke from downtown but Davis followed a triple with a put-back basket in a 0-7 Oostende run in which Petrovic brought the guests within 61-56. Dynamo called timeout but Petrovic and Ovcina got Oostende within 65-61. Hansen stepped up with 8 quick points, including a buzzer-beating three-pointer, in a 10-2 run that put Dynamo out of trouble, 75-63, after 30 minutes. Prkacin stepped up with a three-point play early in the fourth quarter but Brunner got Oostende within 78-67. It didn't last long, however, as Domercant buried 2 triples and Sergey Monya added another in an 11-2 run that broke the game open, 89-69. Oostende did not recover, as Domercant and Hansen kept pacing the hosts' to make all Dynamo fans celebrate a big, important home win.

Head Coaches

PESIC, SVETISLAV
Dynamo Moscow
"The first positive moment, we won the game. The second positive moment, we won all quarters versus such a team as Oostende, I mean a very good team, especially on the offensive side. We had very good percentages from the 3-point line, we made 16. It shows that we have good scorers. And if the team makes about 60% of 3-point shots we cannot lose the game. But we have problems. The first is to press the ball. The second is denied defense. Third is transition in defense. So, we have to work on these problems."
DRUCKER, SHARON
Telindus Oostende
"I think we didn't play well, especially on defense. Dynamo made 16 3-point shots. In the third quarter we played with more effort and cut the difference down to 5 points. But in the end of the third quarter we made too many mistakes and it was difficult to recover again."

Players

HANSEN, TRAVIS
Dynamo Moscow
"We played well. It's very important to win all home games. We played good team basketball. We will keep working on our defense and we will keep getting better."
PETROVIC, VESELIN
Telindus Oostende
"I agree with everything that coach said. We didn't play well. We had a chance in the third quarter but we didn't manage to use it and Dynamo made several 3-point shots."
