Either Hapoel Galil Elyon or Benetton Fribourg will take a step back in its hunt for the elimination round when the two teams meet in a Group E showdown in Israel. Coach Eli Kaneti's Galil Elyon lost convincingly at Buducnost to fall to 1-3. The Israelis trailed by 23 points after one quarter and didn't have enough power to challenge the Montenegrins. Power forward Cliff Brown scored 23 points but the rest of the starters totaled just 17 points while small forward Gil Mossinson added 16 off the bench. Kaneti's team also made just 16-of-28 (57%) foul shots while turning the ball over 19 times. The Israelis cannot really afford to drop their second game at home already as three of their final five games are on the road. Fribourg meanwhile comes into the match on a high after beating Triumph Lyubertsy on a buzzer-beater by point guard Pascal Perrier-David to improve to 2-2. Center Ken Johnson continued his impressive ULEB Cup campaign for the Swiss champion with 15 points, nine rebounds and four blocks - he leads the ULEB Cup with 4.75 bpg. And power forward David Esterkamp collected 17 points, six rebounds and four assists. But coach Damien Leyrolles does not have a deep rotation as just seven players scored. Perrier-David finished with 13 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists, joining Oostende's Elvir Ovcina as the only two players to record triple doubles this season.
