Akasvayu Girona hopes to secure first place in Group C as it entertains Spirou Charleroi. Akasvayu can clinch first place if it wins and Hemofarm loses to Hanzevast Capitals. Head coach Pedro Martinez's Girona improved to 6-2 - even with Hemofarm - after beating the Capitals on the road. The Spanish side hit 61% from the floor and out-rebounded Hanzevast 35-25 while holding the Capitals to just 42% shooting for the game. Martinez's men did however commit 22 turnovers in the victory. Power forward Jackson Vroman was outstanding with 35 points, 10 rebounds and 3 blocks e route to Week 8 MVP honors, while Guard Victor Sada had the unusual double-double of 10 rebounds and 10 assists to go along with 5 points and 5 steals. Shooting guard Roman Montanez added 16 points and veteran guards Darryl Middleton and Arriel McDonald scored 15 and 14 points, respectively, off the bench. Martinez knows that kind of production will be crucial as it hosts Spirou. In Akasvayu's Week 4 victory in Charleroi, Martinez's men committed 21 turnovers, but managed to win by 3cpoints, mainly because its defense held Spirou to just 42% shooting for the game. A similar showing should be enough at home. Spirou Charleroi comes into the game on a high after beating Galatasaray at home to remain alive in the race for the top three with a 3-5 record. It must win its final two games and hope that Galatasaray loses both contests. Against Galatasaray, Eddy Casteels's team shot 44% for the game while holding Galatasaray to just 34% from the floor. Center Len Matela collected 18 points and 11 rebounds while shooting guard Tremmell Darden added 13 points and 9 rebounds. Center Andre Riddick chipped in 8 points, 4 rebounds, 4 steals and 3 blocks as he became the ULEB Cup's all-time leading rebounder, while playmaker Michael Jordan added 7 points, 5 assists and 2 steals.
