Pamesa Valencia looks to remain on the heels of Group D leader Khimki as the Spanish club entertains SLUC Nancy. Coach Fotis Katsikaris's Valencia had an up-and-down game but held on to beat Deutsche Bank Skyliners to improve to 5-1. Pamesa shot 55% for the game while holding Skyliners to 45% from the floor. Forward Mindaugas Timinskas scored 20 points and point guard Shammond Williams collected 11 points and 9 assists as four starters scored in double figures. Katsikaris's bench continued to prove thin as the Valencia reserves combined for 14 points. And Pamesa also shot just 13-of-20 (65%) from the free throw line, bringing its season average to under 72%. The key for Valencia against Nancy will be its pressure on the opposing guards as SLUC made just 6-of-18 (33%) from long range and committed 15 turnovers in the loss in France. Nancy meanwhile comes into the game following a tough home loss against Khimki which dropped coach Jean-Luc Monschau's team to 3-3. Nancy hit just 3-of-14 (21%) from beyond the arc against Khimki while allowing the Russian team to shoot 53% from the field. Center Cyril Julian collected 20 points and 9 rebounds while power forward Victor Samnick chipped in 13 points and 8 rebounds off the bench. Pamesa improved to 6-1 in Group D, tying Khimki in first place. Pamesa's victory also had the side effect of qualifying Khimki, too, even though the Russian club lost its first game at home on Tuesday to Azovmash Mariupol. Nancy, now 3-4, will fight with Azovmash for the one sure Group D qualification berth left.
