Two very different teams are ready to battle for a berth in the Turkish Airlines Euroleague second Qualifying Round in Vrsac, Serbia, where Hemofarm Stada hosts Hapoel Gilboa/Galil on Friday at 18:00 CET. Hemofarm grabbed a 13-point lead by downing Gilboa/Galil 84-97 in Game 1 of the two-way series, becoming the heavy favourite to reach the next round. Milan Macvan paced the winners with 31 points on 13-of-16 two-pointers and 6 rebounds and of course will be Gilboa/Galil's main concern in Game 2. Macvan took over with his basketball IQ and game knowledge, leading a frontcourt that also offers center Jerome Jordan and mobile forwards Milivoje Bozovic and Boris Savovic, always ready to pull the trigger from downtown and run the floor. Gilboa/Galil tried a tall lineup in Game 1 with Leo Lyons in Game 1, but he is set to see more minutes at power forward to guard Macvan. Warren Carter and 2004 ULEB Cup champion Ido Kozikaro are good rebounders set to offer post skills and hustle. Tyler Wilkerson had 20 points off the bench in Game 1 and will be an important factor for Gilboa/Galil in Vrsac. Hemofarm relies on Bojan Krstovic to make the difference at shooting guard. Krstovic, the all-time Eurocup leader in games played, is hoping to finally make his Euroleague debut. Hemofarm has a lot of options at both wings with scoring ace Marko Sutalo and versatile swingman Milos Borisov. Krstovic is ready for an interesting matchup against Rodney Green. Meanwhile, Borisov is set to stop Gal Mekel. Jack McClinton needs to dominate the game tempo and make Gilboa/Galil run the floor. Hemofarm has its own floor general in Miljan Pavkovic, a great shooter and a very good on-the-ball defender. Mustafa Abdul-Hamid will offer Pavkovic a helping hand off the bench. Even when Hemofarm is the heavy favourite, the reigning Israeli League champion will try its best to stay in the race to the Euroleague regular season.
