FMP took its first win of the NIJT in Belgrade on Friday morning by totally blasting Alba Berlin, 110-65, in the tournament opener. Five players of FMP scored in double digits, led by Stefan Popovski and his 24 points. The other scorers were Nikola Pavlovic with 17, Nemanja Bezbradica with 15, Nenad Miljenovic with 14 and Marinko Cvijetan with 10. For Alba, Josip Peric led the way with 13 points, Julius Wolf added 11 and Niklas Ney contributed 10. The game really had no story to it as after 10 minutes FMP was already leading by 37-16 after starting with a 20-7 in the first five minutes. A 3 of 15 from the arc didn't help Alba either and the total domination of the hosts in the rebounds, 42-26 at the end of the game, allowed for FMP to boost the lead to 55-30 at the halftime break. The second half was a walk in the park for FMP, which managed to increase the lead by 10 ponits more in each of the two remaining quarters to finally win by 45.
