Berk Ugurlu - JT Fenerbahce Ulker - Final Four Istanbul 2012Fenerbahce Ulker qualified to the final of the 10th Nike International Junior Tournament following a 92-81 victory over Team China on Saturday afternoon at Abdi Ipekci arena in Istanbul, Turkey. The win pushed FB-Ulker to a 2-1 record in Group B, while the win over Zalgiris Kaunas on Day 2 bestowed them the tiebreaker and the top spot in the group. FB-Ulker will face Lietuvos Rytas in the title game to be held tomorrow on the court of the Final Four at Sinan Erden arena. Team China finished the tournament in the third place of Group B standing a step above KK Zagreb sharing the same 1-2 record. Mehmet Sanle and Ayberk Guleryuz had 17 points each and James Birsen added 16 for the winners. Team China saw Shang Gao hit 32 points and Delong Han with 17 points that weren't enough. A close first quarter saw FB-Ulker take a 22-21 lead after ten minutes, but Team China led by Gao stayed in the race and took a 28-30 lead after 13 minutes. A team effort created a 15-2 run that by FB-Ulker but Gao with 16 first half points set the score at the break on 50-43 for FB-Ulker. Yet that didn't last forever. Guleryuz and Birsen scored to create a double-digit lead midway in the third quarter and from there Team China didn't return.
