KK Zagreb CO opened Day 2 of the Citta di Roma Tournamet with a 68-45 victory over Gran Canaria 2014 in on Wednesday morning in Rome, Italy. Following the win Zagreb climbed to a 2-0 record while the losing side fell to 0-2. Later on Zagreb will try to secure its spot in the title game in a game against the hosting team Stella Azzurra. Gran Canaria will seek its debut win facing Dnipro. Dominik Mavra led the winners with 25 points, Mateo Jurkovic added 20 while Dario Saric finished with 11 points, 12 rebounds, 9 steals and 7 assists. Gran Canaria saw Joaquin Portugues reach double-digits with 12 points. Zagreb relayed on Saric's scoring in the first half and the 2011 Nike International Junior Tournament MVP was on a bad shooting day and the first half finished with Zagreb up 30-25. Mavra, who scored 9 first half points, stepped up in the third quarter when Zagreb locked its rim and scored on easy fast breaks for a 24-3 third quarter score. With the gap over the 20 points line the last quarter didn't produce a big change.
