Union Olimpija collected its debut win in the NIJT in Belgrade by beating Beovuk 72 by 7 points, 76-69 in Group B of the competition. Olimpija stay in the race for the semifinals after taking a 1-1 record in the group, tied with INSEP. Tomorrow the two teams will take on each other in the morning session to decide which will hold the second pass to the semifinals and which will play for the 5-6 spot. Beovuk will face Crvena Zvezda seeking its debut win. Luka Rupnik had 22 points, 8 assists and 5 rebounds for the winners, while Dorde Micic added 18 with 9 rebounds. Marko Babic scored 23 for the losing side while Nikola Socanac had 14. Beovuk took the first lead, but Micic and Rupnik set the score on 17-9 after 9 minutes in favor of Olimpija. Babic led his team back and Beovuk already took the lead back but Micic finished the first half with a couple of plays that gave his team a 42-39 advantage after 20 minutes. Socanac and Lazar Mladenovic were the active spirits in the 3rd quarter when their team took already an 8 point gap, but saw Olimpija answer with a 14-4 run, take control over the game as Rupnik and Micic secured the win from the foul line.
