THE TAKE

It is a critical game for Zalgiris, which will qualify to the Top 16 with a win or if Unics Kazan beats Nizhny Novgorod. However if Zalgiris loses and Nizhny loses, the Lithuanian champs’ Euroleague run will come to an end. Zalgiris relies on Vaidas Kariniauskas and Lukas Lekavicius to set the game tempo against Sassari's electric point guard duo of Jerome Dyson and Edgar Sosa. Zalgiris committed a season-high 31 turnovers in Sassari, so it will need its wing players - James Anderson, Arturas Milaknis, Edgaras Ulanovas - to be fully focus against aggressive defenders such as David Logan, Rakim Sanders and Giacomo DeVecchi. The battle in the paint will be critical, as Zalgiris has a deeper frontcourt featuring Robertas Javtokas, Darius Songaila, Paulius Jankunas and Arturas Gudaitis. Shane Lawal, who excelled against Zalgiris last month, will battle hard against Javtokas and Gudaitis, while Jeff Brooks and Miroslav Todic must spread the floor against Jankunas and Songaila. Expect a great atmosphere at Zalgiris Arena for this crucial game.

Quotes Head Coaches

SACCHETTI, ROMEO
Dinamo Banco di Sardegna Sassari
"We're going to play our last game in Euroleague: we need to fight for all 40 minutes, using this experience the best that we can to grow up. At home we won against Kaunas, and we hope to do the same away: we need it to find confidence, playing together and being a team. I think we can improve and I hope my guys will play proudly untill the last second, showing respect for this great competition. We'll miss some players in this game, it will be a opportunity for somebody to play more minutes, giving me some answers about character and determination."

Players

LAWAL, SHANE

"It will be our last game in Kaunas. The Euroleague experience had been difficult and amazing, we lost against great teams playing until the last second. We need more confidence at the moment, playing strong defense and fighting for all the time. Euroleague can teach a lot to us, as team and players, and we'll honor it."
