THE TAKE

It's put up or shut up time in Group H as 2-3 CEZ Nymburk hosts 2-3 Hemofarm Stada with the winner earning a spot in the Eurocup Last 16. Head coach Muli Katzurin's Czech champion notched its second win over Buducnost to remain in the running for the next round. Nymburk's defense held Buducnost to just 46% from inside the arc and just 3 of 15 (20%) from beyond it. And Katzurin's team produced just enough offense to off-set 32 of 43 (74%) free throws for Buducnost compared to 18 of 21 (86%). The Nymburk starting unit struggled with guard Arthur Lee scoring 15 points but the rest of the starters combining for just 13 points. Guard Justin Gray came off the bench for 19 points and 5 assists while reserve forward Goran Jagodnik added 12 points. In the first match-up between Nymburk and Hemofarm, Katzurin's team lost 82-74 on the road. Hemofarm made just 3 of 17 (18%) from long range but hit for 67% from inside the arc as well as 17 of 20 (85%) free throws. Nymburk meanwhile hit 48% from two-point range and 6 of 18 (33%) three-pointers. And it was again a problem of depth which did in Nymburk with just three players scoring in double figures. Four players hit in double digits for Hemofarm Stada, led by 19 points and 11 rebounds from center Boban Marjanovic and 17 points by guard Stefan Markovic. Both of those players will undoubtedly be key for head coach Stevan Karadzic's team, which dropped to 2-3 by losing 82-62 at home against Bilbao. Hemofarm was held to just 3 of 24 (12%) from long range while committing 20 turnovers. And Karadzic's defense allowed Bilbao to hit 58% from inside the arc and 11 of 22 (50%) from beyond it with seven players knocking down a long ball. Karadzic knows that his team will need to be concentrated defensively against a good ball-moving team like Nymburk with the presence of Marjanovic in the middle being another key.

Head Coaches

KATZURIN, MULI
CEZ Nymburk
"We got into a situation when the game got close in the last two minutes of the game after leading throughout the whole game. Perhaps we were lacking our legs in the closing minutes of the game and we did not show enough poise and experience. It's a really tough way to go out of the competition this way, however, the final score is the fact that can't be changed now. We made crucial mistakes like letting Vrsac have too many uncontested shots down the stretch and paid for it by losing the game."
KARADZIC, STEVAN
Hemofarm Stada
"This is a really big win for our young team. We had big problems with Nymburk's offensive rebounding in the first half and their successful three-point shooting. We came out to the second half with a lot stronger defense, controlled Nymburk's offensive rebounding and ourselves managed to shoot well from the arc. Nymburk's players got nervous in the last two minutes of the game when the score got tied. Macvan made the last shot that put us to next round."
