Quotes Head Coaches

BAUERMANN, DIRK
FC Bayern Munich
"First and foremost we are extremely thankful for the opportunity that Euroleague Basketball has given us. We are hopeful that we have lived up to everybody’s expectations. We now want to finish up the group play with a win and a good performance against the strong team from Zagreb."
ANZULOVIC, DRAZEN
Cedevita
"I will ask my team not to think about the future with the battle for the first place game in the Adriatic League against Hemofarm, I will ask them to try to win in Munich against a strong Bayern. We will play without injured Warren and captain Bazdaric and I will not give red zone minutes for my tired key players after a great victory against Partizan on Saturday but all of them must give maximum while they are on court. I am sure that we can play relaxed and prove that we could have been in the Last 16 with some luck in earlier games, especially against Benetton in Zagreb."

Players

NADJFEJI, ALEKSANDAR
FC Bayern Munich
"Cedevita Zagreb is in a very good rhythm. They beat Partizan last Saturday. I am sure that they will come to Munich for a win. Both teams want to finish the Eurocup season in a good way. We need to focus on our game and play a tough defense like we did in Zagreb."
PRINC, VEDRAN
Cedevita
"We are playing against a great team tomorrow but I hope we can find some strenght to win. It is our obligation to give all we have in the competition where we took third place last season. Now, we are in good position to pass in the Euroleague next season through the Adriatic League, and we are waiting for the important match with Hemofarm but I am sure that this hard game is ideal for tactics preparations for the Vrsac game. We can play easy without stress for passing to Last 16 so I hope that fans will enjoy in this great game, of course with our victory because Bayern is in same position."
Steffen Hamann - FC Bayern Munich (photo Cedevita)FC Bayern Munich handily defeated Cedevita 80-65 at home on Tuesday night to finish its debut Eurocup on a winning note. Jared Homan posted 18 points and 11 rebounds, while Jonathan Wallace and Robin Benzing added 14 apiece and Chevon Troutman had 13 for the winners. And Steffen Hamann dished 8 assists. The losers were led by Dontaye Draper’s 15 points and Vedran Vukusic added 13. Bayern outscored Cedevita 46-27 in the first half, a margin that proved too great to overcome. While both Group G teams were already eliminated, the victory gave Bayern a 2-4 record and third place, while Cedevita fell to 1-5 and last place

A layup and foul shot by Benzing and triple by Troutman helped give the hosts an early 11-4 lead. Cedevita got going offensively, led by Draper, but Bayern kept pace, pushing the score to 25-15. Draper’s free throws ended scoring in the quarter with the hosts on top 25-17. After Bayern’s Wallace drilled a two-pointer, Cedevita got layups form Tomislav Petrovic and Vukusic to eat into the lead, 27-22. But Bayern erupted with a 13-0 burst, led by Demond Greene and Homan, who scored two baskets each, to take a commanding 40-22 lead. Cedevita’s Milan Biro finally put a stop to the run with in a layup and a foul shot, followed by free throws by Matjaz Smodis, to reduce the margin to 40-27. But that was last scoring for the quarter for the visitors as Bayern finished with a 6-0 burst and 46-27 halftime lead.

Biro and Draper led Cedevita on a 0-10 run to open the third quarter, slicing the lead to single digits, 46-37. Troutman ended the run with free throws and a dunk, then Draper scored again to set the score at 51-39. Cedevita’s rally sputtered out at this point and Bayern maintained its scoring to jump out front 59-43 to end the third quarter. The visitors regained the scoring touch in the final quarter as baskets by Vukusic, Dalibor Bagaric and Marko Car trimmed the lead to 62-49. Homan, Wallace and Hamann stepped up for Bayern, the latter hitting a triple to keep the hosts safely out front 73-54. The visitors battled to the end, outscoring Bayern 7-11 in the last 3 minutes, but the game belonged to the hosts, who won convincingly 80-65.

Head Coaches

BAUERMANN, DIRK
FC Bayern Munich
"It was a good game for our team. Seen over 40 minutes perhaps the best along with the game against Treviso. The game shows that we are on a good way. We have moved the ball very well, it was never static or stagnant. The ball went very well, which helped the rhythm. Defensively we were good and worked well. We have consistently adhered to the guidelines and beat a good opponent, who has done everything to win and has a high quality, sovereign at the end."
ANZULOVIC, DRAZEN
Cedevita
"First of all congratulations to Bayern Munich. They were the better team this evening. We opened the game so soft, we looked like a team waiting for the end of the game, for the end of the competition. For me as the coach it is a shame. We couldn’t find a rhythm. We had big problems with the inside players Homan and Troutman. In our offense, before the 3-point-shot 40 seconds until the game was finished, we had 0 out of 16. That is enough for the answer how we played and what kind of concentration we had in this game."
