THE TAKE

Undefeated Barcelona looks to notch its seventh win against a team trying to hold onto a slim lead for a Top 16 berth. Barcelona bested EA7 Emporio Armani Milan by 15 when they met last month as Alex Abrines and Tibor Pleiss led a charge of 48 points off the bench. Barca is even stronger now with the return of Juan Carlos Navarro, who sat out that game. On the other side, Milan has improved as newcomers Joe Ragland and MarShon Brooks have successfully gelled with the team’s other main weapons, combo-guard Daniel Hackett, swingman Alessandro Gentile and center Samardo Samuels. Barcelona has the weapons and the depth to make things tough for Milan. The duo of Ante Tomic and Tibor Pleiss will match up at center, while Abrines, Navarro and Brad Oleson can tangle with Brooks and Gentile. Hackett and Ragland will have to face Marcelinho Huertas in an interesting point guard matchup. It is tough beat Barceloan on the road, but keeping in mind how Gentile starred in a 28-point Milan victory over Barcelona in last season’s Top 16, the visitors have a real shot.

Quotes Head Coaches

PASCUAL, XAVI
FC Barcelona
"Milan will be wanting to beat the group leader, and when you face a game with a challenge you don't have that much pressure. We respect their team a lot despite having only two wins so far. It will be a difficult game but I think it will be fun to watch for the fans."
BANCHI, LUCA
EA7 Emporio Armani Milan
"Playing against the best team in our group, one which is still unbeaten, is obviously very tough but at the same time it's very motivating. Barcelona so far has been able to produce a very high quality basketball and with great intensity, too. We absolutely need to match them for quality and intensity and we need to do that for 40 minutes with no letdowns and sharing the responsibilities. Our preparation was complicated because of the injuries but there's a lot of desire inside the team to do well in a very important and fascinating environment."

Players

ABRINES, ALEX
FC Barcelona
"Everybody in the team has confidence. We can all play and contribute, and that's important for us in order to stay in this good way."
BROOKS, MARSHON
EA7 Emporio Armani Milan
"I'm getting more confident, I'm adjusting better and better. We know Barcelona is a tough, great team but we need to play one game at a time and focus on the task at hand. We are starting to know each other better, undesrtanding our tendencies and that's promising."
