THE TAKE

CEZ Nymburk opens its Eurocup season at home on Tuesday against Cajasol Sevilla, which looks to make a splash this season in Eurocup play. The visitors come arrive with bad news after losing starting point guard Earl Calloway for the entire Eurocup regular season due to injury. Still Cajasol presents a balanced attack with potent sharpshooter Louis Bullock and team captain and do it all player Tariq Kirksay. The Czech champs have a fresh face on the sidelines this season with head coach Ronen Ginzburg promoted from his former position as assistant. Nymburk has looked sharp this season with swingman Tre Simmons and point guard Afik Nissim standing out as key players. Experienced playmaker Mike Lenzly and game manager Pavel Slezak join Nissim to handle the ball, completing a solid backcourt. The scoring for the hosts figures to come from the wings with Simmons and Ladislav Sokolovsky trying to even or surpass Bullock’s firepower. It will be easier for them to shine if big men Petr Benda and Radek Necas dominate the paint with towering youngster Adam Koch against the potent combination of veteran Paul Davis’s post skills and Kaloyan Ivanov’s rebounding prowess. The aggressive Mindaugas Katelynas could also be a difference-maker for the visitors. This will be a true test for Cajasol as it arrives to a tough court without a star player.

Head Coaches

GINZBURG, RONEN
CEZ Nymburk
"It is impossible to win a game on this level when you receive 93 points. We lost this game on defense. Congratulations to Cajasol, I did not see the same approach from my team tonight like I have been seeing until now. My players are profesionals and I am expecting them to play the same tough game as we played in the games the last couple of days."
PLAZA, JOAN
Cajasol Sevilla
"We came to play against a strong team that is winning over teams such as Partizan or Cibona. Also last year they complicated the situation for Bilbao on their journey to the Eurocup Finals. We are in a complicated situation because we have not been able to win in our league on the road."

Players

CHAN, ALES
CEZ Nymburk
"It is hard to talk about the game now, but generally I think we did not play hard enough like we played against Partizan or Cibona. It is very hard to win the game when you allow your oponent to rebound like we allowed Cajasol. For me it was quite hard to come and play, because I played a lot of minutes two days ago. Cajasol showed us how to play in the last quarter, we need to play this way as well."
SATORANSKY, TOMAS
Cajasol Sevilla
"At the beginning of the game, we did not play well, but in the second quarter we managed to play better defense. In the second half we pushed our oponent, played good defense and also good ofense. It was a tough game and I am happy that we won."
