Stella Azzurra added another win to its bucket with a 69-50 victory over Dnipro on Wednesday afternoon in Rome, Italy at the Citta di Roma Tournament. The win takes the hosting team to a 2-0 record in Group B tied for the top spot with KK Zagreb. The two teams will meet in the last game of today to decide the group's winner and the ticket to the title game tomorrow. Dnipro and Gran Canaria 2014 will meet later on in hope to avoid the last place in Group B before the classification games tomorrow. Mirco Turel led his team with 23 points, Yancarlos Rodriguez added 16 and Nicolo Basile finished with 13. Vladyslav Smyrnov was the only player in Dnipro in double-digits with 23. Dnipro enjoyed the better start as Smyrnov scored 15 points in less than seven minutes to lead his team to an early 19-10 lead, that was enough to reach a 32-25 lead at the break. Yet the second half was a totally different story. Midway in the third quarter Dnipro still led 45-36 yet then came an amazing run by the locals who outscored their opponents 32-5 until the final buzzer and got the key win.
