The Take

Fenerbahce Dogus Istanbul (15-7) will look to solidify its position in the top four by claiming a fifth straight home win when AX Armani Exchange Olimpia Milan (7-15) comes to town. Milan has a more-potent offense, averaging 80.6 points per game against the host's 78.1 ppg., but Fenerbahce has been harder to score against, boasting the competition’s best defensive record with an average of just 73.3 points per game allowed; Milan ranks last in that category after conceding 85.3 points per game. This will be the 12th time these two sides meet in the EuroLeague, with Fener ahead in the head-to-head duels 8-3. In their last encounter, the champs won on the road 86-92 in Round 2 behind 17 points and 9 assists from Kostas Sloukas. Big man Jan Vesely leads the hosts (13.8 ppg. 5.2 rpg.) in one of his best seasons yet, followed by Brad Wanamaker (12.8 ppg.) and James Nunnally (10.4 ppg.), who is still out due to injury. For Milan, former Fener player Andrew Goudelock (13.6 ppg.) is the main offensive option together with Vladimir Micov (10.7 ppg.). Starting point guard Jordan Theodore (12.6 ppg.) will not play due to a sprained ankle and former Fenerbahce guard Curtis Jerrells may play a larger role as a result.

Head Coaches

OBRADOVIC, ZELJKO
Fenerbahce Dogus Istanbul
"We play against a team that is now different to when we faced them in the second round of the competition. That game went to overtime, this means it was tough. We expect also a tough game now. We must play aggressive form the beginning, thinking about their individual quality. We must not thing about their position in the standings, we must respect them and respect ourselves, so we have to try hard until the end of the competition."
PIANIGIANI, SIMONE
AX Armani Exchange Olimpia Milan
"They are obviously a contending team, with the second-best defense in the entire EuroLeague and a terrific physicality. We'll have to overcome those traits in spite of playing without Jordan Theodore. Our point guard was giving us a lot of offensive rhythm lately. This is an opportunity, under extreme difficulties, to grow as a team, experimenting new line-ups. Fenerbahce is going to pose many problems, of course, especially with their pick and roll system and the many mismatches they can take advantage of. We'll have to resist using the same competitiveness we had in the Milan game against the same opponent."

Players

DUVERIOGLU, AHMET
Fenerbahce Dogus Istanbul
"As Fenerbahce Dogus, we want to get the best possible position before the EuroLeague Playoffs and all the remaining games are very important to reach that goal. We know that Milan has a lot of talented players on every position. The first game in Italy was very close and we won after an overtime. Now we have another difficult one, but we will try to do our best to get another win. We were not able to get what we wanted in the Turkish Cup and now it will be a good chance to react as a team."
MICOV, VLADIMIR
AX Armani Exchange Olimpia Milan
"We'll play against a great team and our goal is to compete as long as possible like we did in Milan, obviously doing it on the road is gonna be more complicated."
