Panathinaikos dropped to 14-10, fifth best record in the competition, and the same as Crvena Zvezda mts Belgrade. Panathinaikos was able to at least hold a tie-breaker against Darussafaka, due to its six-point win earlier in the season. The teams traded blows and each came up with runs of its own during the game, but the score was tied at 72-72 going into the last 2 minutes. That is when Brad Wanamaker hit a three-pointer, Will Clyburn beat the shot-clock with an impossible jumper, before James Anderson blocked a pair of shots in the final 45 seconds, securing Darussafaka's win. Wanamaker finished with 24 points and 6 rebounds. Anderson collected 16 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 blocks. Clyburn and Dairis Bertans netted 12 apiece in victory. Chris Singleton scored 23 points shooting 4-for-5 from three-point land for Panathinaikos. K.C. Rivers added 12, and Ioannis Bourousis had 10 points plus 8 rebounds in defeat.

Darussafaka made the first run, with Ante Zizic grabbing 4 offensive rebounds, Clyburn hitting a rainbow three and Anderson scoring twice from close range to make it 11-4. But Panathinaikos answered with a three-pointer from Singleton that sparked a 0-7 run, and Mike James beat the buzzer with a three-pointer to make it 17-17 after 10 minutes. Wanamaker scored 5 points to open second quarter, before Rivers and James each hit from downtown once, and Bourousis hit back-to-back triples in a 4-16 spurt that gave the visitors a 26-33 advantage. However, Darussafaka kept Panathinaikos scoreless for the final 3:33 of the half, with Wanamaker, Bertans and Anderson putting together a 9-0 run that made it 35-33 at halftime. James Feldeine and Clyburn traded three-pointers to start third quarter, before Anderson had a fastbreak dunk. Wanamaker added a shot-clock beating triple, followed by a three-point play, helping the hosts to go up 48-36. Rivers ended Panathinaikos's scoring drought of longer than 5 minutes before threes from Singleton and Feldeine capped a 0-13 run that had the visitors back in front, 48-49. The teams entered the final quarter tied at 53-53, but Singleton scored from the inside and the outside, then Rivers hit from long range, to give Panathinaikos a 55-61 advantage. The hosts answered with 8 consecutive points, a run that was capped by Clyburn’s fastbreak slam. More threes, from Singleton and James, put Panathinaikos up again, but Wanamaker hit a step-back baseline jumper that sent the game to the final 2 minutes tied at 72-72. That's when Wanamaker hit an open three which put Darussafaka up for good. Clyburn added a tough, long off-balance jumper, before Anderson's blocks sealed the deal.

“We set a few simple goals before the game, and I think guys lived up to those things. They put on a great performance against a quality team. The best thing was the fantastic crowd. It was live in this gym, people were excited, people were supportive and people were happy to see Dacka play like this. I did not think they would beat us from the three-point line. If you remember, we threw away game in Greece in the last minute, but they beat us inside in that game, they beat us with Bourousis. We did not allow him to affect the game tonight the way he did in the first game. Their shooting percentage went down in the second half partly because it is not normal to shoot 60 percent, and in part because we got up into shooters and made them shoot tougher shots.”

“Great game for basketball fans and I really want to thank our fans for the great support and push they gave us tonight in the game. And we needed it. One of the things we are trying to build here is a fan base and sense of value of this team for the people that follow Dacka, and new fans we want to bring into our family, and game like this really help in that goal. Panathinaikos is a very strong and quality team; you seen that all year in their results. And to win a game like that says something about our team, and I am very very happy for our guys, and proud of the way they worked to win that game. There were two good teams playing that have the ability to make a run. That is big part of games, momentum runs. We had one, they ran back at us. But the good thing for us is that we found ourselves again, we did not allow that to change the way we play. We did not allow that to mentally affect us. The runs were just a matter of two quality teams going at each other. In the first game, Bourousis hurt us inside badly. Scoring inside, getting to the foul line. That’s what beat us there. We were not going to allow to happen again. We had a plan, we executed the plan, and we did good job stopping penetration. To give up only 11 two-point field goals, that is a huge factor. That is a great job defensively. They started Bourousis and he had no two-point field goals and 7 turnovers tonight. That’s due ot the way we defended him, and that was a big factor in the game. He is a big factor, a true post player, he is very good at what he does, and we were just not gonna let him play the same kind of game that he played in the first game.”

"It was a tough game for both teams, especially in the fourth quarter. We really played hard, we made some big shots. Brad hit that big three and Will hit that unbelievable shot. That was a good team effort for us. Diffrent players stepped up during the game. And we won as a team."
WANAMAKER, BRAD
Darussafaka Dogus Istanbul
“We played tough. We came out, we wanted this game, and we showed it for 40 minutes. They are a tough team, but we needed this win. We were desperate and we got the win. Any time you can keep your turnovers under 10, you have a good chance to win. We took care of the ball. We were just reading the defense. We needed this win, and I am happy for my teammates, coaches and our fans for this win.”
PAPPAS, NIKOS
Panathinaikos Superfoods Athens
“Darussafaka is a very good team with a great roster. We knew what we had to face; unfortunately, we failed. We were totally focused on our plan, but we could not stop Wanamaker. In the last minutes, we made the wrong choices on defense and offense, and I think that we lost fairly.”
