After a long day of close games the closing encounter of Day 1 at the Ciudad de L'Hospitalet tournament saw Lietuvos Rytas knock out CB L'Hospitalet 94-48 on Wednesday night in L'Hospitalet, Spain. Rytas showed no mercy on its way for a debut win in the tournament and a 1-1 record tied with Real Madrid for the second spot in Group A. The hosts dropped to 0-2 and fell out of the race to the title game. Tomorrow the hosts will try to become the first team to beat Joventut, in hope to avoid a 0-3 record, while Rytas will fight Real for the second spot in the group that leads to the semi final games. Sergi Martinez led the losing side with 12 points. Augustinas Jankaitis led Rytas with 15 points, Edvinas Seskus added 13 while Alvydas Zarskus and Karolis Razukas had 10 points each. Rytas attacked from tip off and took a double-digit lead already in less than 10 minutes, 19-9. Another run late in the first half pushed the gap to 18 at the break, 42-24 before the third and fourth quarters were decided by the same result, 26-12, that increased the final gap to 46.
