Fenerbache-Ulker will try to defend its title in the Citta di Roma Tournament following a 60-58 victory over Virtus Siena on Wednesday evening in Rome, Italy. Tomorrow FB-Ulker will attempt to win the tournament back-to-back after lifting the trophy in 2010. The second finalist will be decided later on today between the Nike International Junior Tournament champion KK Zagreb CO and hosting side Stella Azzurra. FB-Ulker finished Group A with a 3-0 record at the top spot while Siena suffered its first defeat and will play for the third place tomorrow after finishing second with a 2-1 balance. James Birsen led the winners with 16 points while Siena saw Amadeo Tessitori collect 24 points and 9 rebounds. The teams fought neck-to-neck for 40 minutes. Siena took an early 2-8 lead but saw its rivals finish the first quarter with a 14-11 lead. Francesco Candussi and Tessitori kept Siena in the game enough for a 32-31 FB-Ulker lead at the break before Mehmet Sanli led his squad to a 37-31 lead with 13 minutes to play. Candussi with a big dunk and more Tessitori points brought Siena close again and with five minutes to play the score was tied 56-56 after a shot by the later. Tessitori added another point from the foul line to make it 60-58 still with three minutes to play but until the final buzzer the defense on both ends prevented points. Siena had the last ball and a chance to win but Muhammed Kucukasci deflected the ball and sent his team to the title game once again.
