THE TAKE

Galatasaray will look to remain perfect at home this season against a team coming off its first road win. Zvezda bested Laboral Kutxa last week as centers Boban Marjanovic and Maik Zirbes and power forward Luka Mitrovic combined for more than half the team’s points. Marjanovic was the Round 1 bwin MVP when Zvezda beat Galatasaray 76-68 on opening night. Galatasaray has size in tis frontcourt with centers Furkan Aldemir, Ian Vougioukas and Nate Jawai and may need contributions from all three to stop the Zvezda bigs. Stretch ‘4’ Zoran Erceg will challenge Mitrovic. With Vladimir Micov doubtful and Marty Pocius questionable, point guard Carlos Arroyo will look to Pietro Aradori and Sinan Guler to play major minutes on the wings, where they will be challenged by Jaka Blazic, Charles Jenkins and Nikola Kalinic. A hot shooting night from Marcus Williams would be a major boost for Zvezda, which may be a slight favorite due to the hosts’ injuries.

Quotes Head Coaches

ATAMAN, ERGIN
Galatasaray Liv Hospital Istanbul
"Despite all the injuries, we should continue to win our home games to reach the Top 16. In order to reach that goal, we trust our fans support in our home. We know our opponent’s strengths. They showed what they are capable of by winning against Laboral Kutxa in Vitoria. It's going to be a tough game but we have to win."
RADONJIC, DEJAN
Crvena Zvezda Telekom Belgrade
"We have triumphed over Galatasaray at our home court but are expecting difficult job in Istanbul. They are a team with a great number of fans and with huge ambition. It is a team which has both quality and experience, and which plays very well at home – they have not yet lost at home court this season. We are going to Istanbul with a desire to make a surprise. There is five more rounds to go and there is five teams who have a chance to be amongst the four who will progress to the Top 16. We will try to play a good game but are also aware that will not be an easy task."

Players

ALDEMIR, FURKAN
Galatasaray Liv Hospital Istanbul
"Compared to the first game of the regular season, I believe that we are developing our way to play basketball as a team. After losing the first game in Belgrade now for us it's more important to win in our homecourt. Despite some injuries we are going to do our best on the court to get this win for our fans."
LAZIC, BRANKO
Crvena Zvezda Telekom Belgrade
"The match in Istanbul will be one of the toughest away matches this season. They play very well at home because of the fantastic support of the fans. Galatasaray has some troubles with injuries but that will not make it easier for us because they are the team made of very good and experienced players. We will try to play another good Euroleague game and to make another surprise."
