A proud club facing elimination, Caja Laboral, and another that would love to qualify for the Top 16 earlier than it has all century, EA7 Emporio Armani Milan, have everything to play for when they meet in Vitoria, Spain on Thursday. Laboral needs a second victory and first under new head coach Zan Tabak or will be eliminated from the Top 16 for a second consecutive season. Milan can actually advance with a victory if Anadolu Efes can defeat Cedevita Zagreb a little earlier on Thursday. Laboral's situation would improve a lot if it wins, however, given that its only other victory so far was in Milan. That would give the Spanish team a strong advantage in any eventual tie with Milan. The visitors held a 23-40 lead in the second quarter and had a 14-point halftime advantage, but Caja Laboral rallied in the second half. In a thrilling finish, Thomas Heurtel ended up Laboral’s hero scoring a game-winning layup with 5 seconds remaining. On the other end, Gianluca Basile air-balled a potential game-winning three-point attempt as time expired.
