Panathinaikos, Maccabi, Montepaschi head to Barcelona!The Turkish Airlines Euroleague will crown a new champion at the 2011 Final Four after a historic night of playoff victories won series for three comeback teams in the playoffs. With their third victories in a row, Maccabi Electra, Montepaschi Siena and Panathinaikos became the first teams to reach the Final Four after entering a five-game playoff without home-court advantage and losing Game 1. Panathinaikos dethroned defending champion Regal FC Barcelona with a 78-67 victory, the widest margin in their four games, to win the series 3-1. Nick Calathes led five double-digit scorers for the Greens with 12 points, 3 assists and 3 steals. The same 3-1 series victory went to the Italian champs as Montepaschi KO’d Olympiacos 88-76, completing a comeback from a record 48-point loss in Game 1. Malik Hairston poured in 25 points and Ksistof Lavrinovic 19 as Siena protected double-digit leads for much of the game. Finally, after an unbelievable first half in Tel Aviv, host Maccabi roared past Caja Laboral 99-77 to return to the Final Four. In its first game without star guard Doron Perkins, who is out for the season with torn knee ligaments, backcourt mate Jeremy Pargo rained down 26 points and 7 assists and the man that assumer Perkins spot in the starting lineup, Guy Pnini, scorer a career-high 22. Meanwhile one series remains unsettled after Omar Cook rattled off 16 points, 7 assists and 5 steals to carry Power Electronics Valencia over Real Madrid 81-72. The result evened their best-of-five series at 2-2 and set up a decisive Game 5 on Wednesday in the Spanish capital. The winner will travel to Barcelona in May to face Maccabi in one Semifinal at the Final Four on May 6. Panathinaikos and Montepaschi will clash in the other Semifinal.
