Regular Season, Round 3
Week 3 of the Euroleague regular season saw the groups begin to take form, as one team has risen above the rest in each group to remain undefeated in first place, while some other contenders, most notably reigning Euroleague champ CSKA Moscow, when down in shocking upsets. In group A, Olympiacos is on top at 3-0, but Le Mans, which set a defensive record, and Tau Ceramica scored key road wins to remain one game back. Dynamo also stormed back to remain in the picture. Panathinaikos is the Group B leader, with Cibona, Joventut and Maccabi, which all won at home this week, tied for second at 2-1. Winterthur Barcelona reigns atop Group C after Pau-Orthez upset previously undefeated CSKA. Benetton Treviso defeated Fenerbahce Ulker to join Pau and CSKA in second. Eldo Napoli's home victory over Aris was the first Euroleague win in club history. Week 3 saw a little of everything, with four road wins, two monster defensive efforts that held opponents in the low 50s, one team topping 100 points and another winning in overtime. Although the season is still young, it's becoming ever clear that every game can make a difference in this year's action-packed season of Euroleague Basketball.
