Brose Baskets extends Coach Fleming and staff
Chris Fleming - Brose Baskets BambergBrose Baskets Bamberg gave long-time head coach Chris Fleming contract extension and fortified its frontline with the signing of high-flying forward Latavious Williams to a short-term deal on Thursday. Fleming, who took the reins in Bamberg in 2008, extended his contract for three more seasons after this one, which will keep him with the German champs through 2016. His assistant coaches Arne Woltmann and Stefan Weissenbock received similar deals. In his four seasons with Brose Baskets, Fleming has guided the team to three consecutive German League titles and two German Cups.

Williams (2.02 meters, 23 years old) signed for two months to help fill the void created by an injury to center A.J. Ogilvy. Williams is an exciting player, who thrilled fans across Spain last season with FIATC Mutua Joventut. He averaged 9.6 points, 7.1 rebounds and 0.8 blocks over 34 Spanish League games last season with Joventut. That was his first season in Europe. Williams made news as a teenager when he decided to skip playing college basketball and played in the NBA D-League as a 20-year-old. He played 88 games for Tulsa over two seasons and posted 13.2 points and 8.6 rebounds in his second season, 2010-2011.
