And the '90s empire of five straight domestic titles was coached first by Yannis Ioannidis and then by Dusan Ivkovic, and featured Greek players like Panayotis Fassoulas (current mayor of Piraeus), Giorgos Sigalas, Argyris Kambouris (hero of the Greek national team's European title in 1987) as well as non-Greeks such as Zarko Paspalj, Walter Berry, Roy Tarpley, Eddie Johnson, Alexander Volkov, David Rivers, Dragan Tarlac, Milan Tomic, etc.

Fact file:Olympiacos has reached the Euroleague Final Four four times, winning the title in 1997 and losing twice in the final (to Joventut Badalona in 1994 and Real Madrid in 1995) and once in the semis (to eventual winners Zalgiris Kaunas in 1999)... The Reds won both 1994 and 1995 semifinals against "eternal rivals" Panathinaikos but maybe gave everything they had in those games and had no stamina in the finals... The team is currently coached by two-time European champion Pini Gershon and has reigning European champion internationals Sophocles Schortsianitis, Panayotis Vassilopoulos and Yannis Bouroussis.
