Top 16, Week 4 bwin MVP: Paul Davis, BC Khimki Moscow Region
Paul Davis stood head and shoulders above the rest in leading his team to a momentous victory on Friday and his effort earned him bwin Top 16 Game 4 MVP honors too. Davis starred as BC Khimki Moscow Region was the only team all week to win at home! He amassed 16 points, 9 rebounds, 2 steals and a club record 5 blocked shots as Khimki routed Maccabi Electra 88-67. His defensive effort helped Khimki set a Top 16 team record for most blocks in a game. Davis’s efficiency – 5-of-7 shooting from the field and 6-of-7 from the free throw line – helped him amass a performance index rating of 29, which was the most by any Euroleague player all week. Two stars of road winners followed Davis closely in the weekly rankings. CSKA Moscow forward Viktor Khryapa once again stuffed the stat sheet as his team downed old rival Zalgiris Kaunas 73-87, while Jonas Maciulis of Panathinaikos Athens went on a scoring tear in a 73-79 victory at Alba Berlin, Both players finished with index ratings of 27. Khryapa tallied 15 points – and just 2 missed shots – plus 6 rebounds, 8 assists, 4 steals and 2 blocks. Maciulis made 6 of 8 three-pointers en route to 28 points. Rounding out the week’s best are Nihad Djedovic of Berlin and Bobby Brown of Montepaschi Siena. Djedovic scored 21 points on 4-of-5 three-point shooting for a 25 index. Brown led Siena to a come-from-behind 72-74 victory at Olympiacos Piraeus with 22 points, 6 assists and an index of 24.

Individual highs: Jonas Maciulis of Panathinaikos, 28 points
The 28 points poured in by Jonas Maciulis were the high mark of Top 16 Game 4. The league’s scoring leader remains Bobby Brown with 24.8 points per game in the Top 16 and an average of 21 points for the season, which makes him the favorite for the Alphonso Ford Top Scorer Trophy winner. The week’s MVP, Paul Davis, was joined by Kyle Hines of Olympiacos Piraeus and Maciej Lampe of Caja Laboral Vitoria as the week’s leading rebounders with 9 each. Davis and Lampe are each now among the top 10 rebounders in the Top 16. Viktor Khryapa tops that list with 8.8 rebounds per game. Khryapa was also the week’s top man in both assists and steals with 8 and 4, respectively. He is tied for seventh on the Top 16 assist chart with 4.3 per game. Khimki’s Zoran Planinic is the Top 16 leader with 7 assists per game. Khryapa’s 2.5 steals per game are second only to Jamon Lucas’s 2.8 steals for Anadolu Efes. Davis was the week’s best shot blocker with 5, which moved him into a tie for second place in this stage with 2 per game. Tomas Ress of Montepaschi Siena is the Top 16 leader with 2.3 blocks per game.
