Injury has again struck FC Barcelona Regal at the small forward spot as the top team in the Turkish Airlines Euroleague so far this season announced that Xavi Rabaseda will miss the playoffs with a stress fracture to his right leg. Rabaseda, 24, was averagine 2.7 points and 1.1 rebounds in 10 minutes per game this season, but was due to see increased playing time after starting small forward Pete Mickeal's season was ended with the discovery of a blood clot on his lung just two weeks ago. Rabaseda is expected to resume practice in three weeks, which would let him play if Barcelona qualifies for the Final Four. In the absence of both Rabaseda and Mickeal on Thursday night, 19-year-old Alex Abrines came off the bench at small forward to lead Barcelona with 21 points in a 74-71 home win over Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv. Barcelona leads the competition with a 22-2 record overall after finishing 13-1 in the Top 16 for first place and earning homecourt advantage in the upcoming best-of-five playoffs against Panathinaikos Athens.
