Unicaja Malaga of Spain announced Tuesday that Jasmin Repesa will not return as the team's head coach next season. The statement said that club management met yesterday and took the decision to terminate his contract. Repesa and Unicaja posted a 15-9 overall record in the Turkish Airlines Euroleague this season. They finished the regular season 8-2 and tied for first place in Group B. Repesa managed to take Unicaja to its eighth consecutive Top 16, where the team finished with a 7-7 record and fifth place, one short of the playoffs, after registering road wins against future Final Four qualifiers Real Madrid and CSKA Moscow, among others. Things did not go that well for Repesa's team in domestic competitions, as Unicaja failed to reach both the Copa del Rey final eight and the Spanish League playoffs. Unicaja was Repesa's fifth Euroleague team after Slask Wroclaw, Cibona Zagreb, Fortitudo Bologna and Virtus Roma. Unicaja thanked Repesa "for his work, effort and dedication shown throughout this season, wishing him all sorts of succeess in his next professional challenge."
