Terrence Morris - Hapoel Maccabi Elite Tel Aviv continues shaking the player market with its second signing for 2007-08, shot-blocking forward Terence Morris. Two days after renewing point guard Will Bynum through 2009, Maccabi tabbed Morris (2.06 meters, 28 years old) for inside help after having seen him up close as a force for archrival Hapoel Migdal Jerusalem all last season. Morris helped Hapoel win the Israeli Cup, reach the quarter-finals of the ULEB Cup and come within a single shot of beating Maccabi for the Israeli League title. Although he averaged only 5.3 points and 4 rebounds in 6 ULEB Cup games during the season, Morris put up big numbers in the Israeli League: 13 points, 7.1 rebounds and 2.5 blocks per game. Before Hapoel, Morris had played at the University of Maryland for four years, the Houston Rockets for two more. He spent one other season in Europe, at Apollon Patras of Athens, where he led the Greek league in blocks. In 2005-06 he returned to the NBA with the Orlando Magic, but last season returned to Europe when he signed by Hapoel.
