A Final Four team has captured one of the top young performers in the Euroleague last season with the announcement that point guard Bojan Popovic has been signed by Unicaja for a deal of up to three seasons. Popovic (190, 24) spent the last two seasons with Dynamo Moscow, winning the 2006 ULEB Cup and reaching the Quarterfinal Playoffs of the Euroleague last season. Popovic was a big part of both those achievements. He came back from injury to see his first action for three months in the 2006 ULEB Cup Final, coming off the bench for 17 points on perfect shooting, including 12-for-12 free throws, a title-game record. He was almost as big in Dynamo's run to the playoffs last season, ranking 10th in performance rating during the Top 16, with averages of 12.7 points, 4 rebounds and 2.2 steals. Previous to Dynamo, Popovic played four seasons in his native Serbia with FMP Zeleznik, three of those also in the ULEB Cup. His final season with FMP was 2004-05, when he averaged 13.2 points, 3.9 assists, 3.4 steals and 3.7 rebounds in 10 ULEB Cup games.
