Pini Gershon - Olympiacos Olympiacos has announced that head coach Pini Gershon will return for another season. In his first season with them, Gershon led the Reds into the Euroleague quarterfinals and to the fifth and final game of the Greek League playoffs. Olympiacos compiled the fourth-best Euroleauge regular season record, 10-4, under Gershon. The team went on to split its Top 16 games, 3-3, good enough to advance from second place to the playoffs, where it lost in a two-game sweep to Tau Ceramica. In the Greek League, Olympiacos made it to the do-or-die fifth game of the finals before falling to Euroleague champion Panathinaikos on the road. It was Gershon's first season coaching outside of his native Israel. He was previously a two-time Euroleague and one-time Suproleague winner with Maccabi Tel Aviv between 2001 and 2005. Prior to last season in Athens, he had never coached a full Euroleague season without reaching the title game.
