Unics Kazan added another valuable piece to its backcourt ahead of the Turkish Airlines Euroleague Qualifying Rounds, announcing the signing of combo-guard Curtis Jerrells to a two-year deal on Monday morning. A veteran of four Euroleague seasons, Jerrells (1.85 meters, 27 years old) now joins 2014 Alphonso Ford Top Scorer Trophy winner Keith Langford in Unics' backcourt, after the two players teamed up with EA7 Emporio Armani Milan the previous campaign. In helping his club reach the Euroleague playoffs last season, Jerrells posted 11.3 points, 2.5 assists and 2.3 rebounds. Coming off the bench, he finished the season by hitting at least one three-point shot in with 22 consecutive games, and did it with 42.1% accuracy. Jerrells was also Playoffs Game 2 bwin co-MVP last season, after scoring 12 of his 17 points in the second half, and dishing 6 assists in victory against eventual champion Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv. He also helped Milan lift the Italian League trophy for the first time since 1996. Jerrells made his Euroleague debut with Partizan Belgrade in 2010-11 season, before playing for Fenerbahce Ulker and Besiktas in Turkey. He also spent time with Austin and Maine of the NBA Development League.
