FC Bayern Munich added a young talent to its roster on Thursday with the addition of big man Daniel Mayr until 2018. Mayr (2.16 meters, 18 years old) arrives from Science City Jena of the German League second division, where last season he averaged 5.3 points and 3.8 rebounds per game. He has played there since 2008 and has been considered one of the top prospects in German basketball for the near future. He now will make his European debut with the German champs in the Turkish Airlines Euroleague, even though he will probably be playing more with the second team. "I was positively shocked when I got the offer from Bayern" Mayr said. "I know I won't be having much playing time at first, but I am sure that practicing with the best like John Bryant, Yassin Idbihi or Svetislav Pesic will help me evolve as a player."
