Olympiacos entered with full speed into the summer signing season and just days after inking center Ian Vougioukas, the Reds reached an agreement with guard Giorgos Apostolidis from Olympia Larissa. Apostolidis (197, 23) grew up with PAOK and joined Iraklis in 2003. He played there for two seasons before going to Olympia Larissa, where he has played in the last two years. This year, Apostolidis helped Olympia to finish seventh in the Greek regular season, its highest ranking ever. In the 2006-07 season he averaged 5.4 points, 1.3 boards and 1.6 assists in 18 minutes per game. Apostolidis was also a member of the Iraklis team that finished third in 2003-04 season. He won the silver medal in the 2005 World under-21 Championships in Mar Del Plata, Argentina, the bronze medal in the 2003 World Junior Championships in Thessaloniki and the bronze medal in the European Junior Championships in Bobligen, Germany, always with the Greek national team. Meanwhile, Olympiacos has announced that Ryan Stack, Nikos Barlos and Christos Harissis will not play for the team next season.
