Markovski, new Milano coach

Zare Markovski (photo: Virtus Bologna) Armani Jeans Milano has found a new coach in Zare Markovski, who inked a one-year deal with his new team. Markovski, age 46, replaces Sasha Djordjevic, who coached the team since January 2006. Markovski arrives from Virtus Bologna, where he coached the team in the last two season. He helped Virtus to make in to both the Italian Cup and the Italian League finals this season, as well as making it to the FIBA EuroCup final four. Virtus knocked off Milano 1-3 in the best-of-five Italian League semifinals this season. Markovski has also coached Air Avellino, Sassari and Trentina in Italy, Lugano in Switzerland, Darussafaka in Turkey, as well as Kavadarci in his native FYROM. He helped Lugano to win both the Swiss League and Cup titles in 2001, and has also coached the FYROM national team.
