Maccabi brings Pargo back on two-year deal
July 24, 2014
Turkish Airlines Euroleague champion Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv brought back one of the dominant pieces in its run to the 2011 Euroleague Championship Game by signing point guard Jeremy Pargo to a two-year deal. Pargo (1.88 meters, 28 years old) arrives from CSKA Moscow, with whom he reached the Final Four in Milan last season, but saw his team fall to Maccabi in the semifinals. He averaged 5 points and 1.4 assists over 27 Euroleague games for CSKA. Pargo enjoyed his best season with Maccabi in 2010-11. He averaged 13 points, 3.5 rebounds and 4.3 assists in 22 games, was the Euroleague MVP of the Month in March 2011 and named to the 2010-11 All-Euroleague Second Team. He helped Maccabi win the Israeli double - league and cup titles - in 2011.
Pargo began his professional career in Israel with Altshuler Saham Galil Gilboa, which he led to the 2011 Israeli League championship. Between his first stint at Maccabi and signing for CSKA, Pargo spent two seasons with three teams in the NBA. He played a total of 83 games for Memphis, Cleveland and Philadelphia.
