Limoges signs sweet-shooting Smith
Jamar Smith - Brose Baskets Bamberg - EB13_51336Limoges CSP added some scoring punch to its lineup by signing Jamar Smith to a two-year contract, the club announced Monday. Smith (1.91 meters, 27 years old) arrives Brose Baskets Bamberg, which he led in scoring with 12.5 points on 48.1% three-point shooting in 10 Turkish Airlines Euroleague games last season, despite coming off the bench in all but one game. In fact, the shooting guard was seventh in the competition’s regular season in per-minute scoring with an average of 23.7 points prorated over 40 minutes per game. He was tied for the third most three-pointers made too (25). Smith further tallied 10.5 points on 39.1% three-point shooting in 32 German League games.

Smith began his European career with BK Prostejov in the Czech Republic in 2011-12 and played the following season for ltshuler Shaham Galil Gilboa in Israel. He helped Galil Gilboa win the Balkan League title. Smith has also played for Guaiqueries de Margaritas in Venezuela and Maine in the NBA D-League after a college career at the University of Southern Indiana. He was chosen as the Great Lakes Valley Conference player of the year in 2009-10 after amassing 21.6 points, 4.1 rebounds and 3.7 assists in 26 NCAA Division 2 games.
