Italian champion Montepaschi Siena remains busy on the free agent market by signing big man Tomas Ress, who arrives from Bipop Carire Reggio Emilia. Ress (208, 26) has spent his entire professional career in Italy, playing parts of three seasons in the Euroleague. His best Euroleague season came for Scavolini Pesaro during the 2004-05 season, in which he averaged 4.2 points, 3.2 rebounds and 0.5 blocks in 14 minutes per game. Last season Ress joined Reggio Emilia during the season from Climamio Bologna and averaged 7.6 points and 5.6 rebounds in 25 games. He grew up with Virtus Bologna, before heading to the USA to play high-school basketball at Hileah Champagnat Catholic in Florida and college basketball at Texas A&M. He has been a member of the Italian national team, but will not play at the upcoming Eurobasket.
