Real Madrid signs Pelekanos
Michalis Pelekanos ULEB Cup and Spanish League champion Real Madrid has started to improve its roster for its Euroleague return in the 2007-08 season. On Friday, Real Madrid has agreed to terms of a contract with swingman Michalis Pelekanos, who inked a two-year deal with his new club. Pelekanos (198, 26) arrives from Panellinios, where he averaged 12.3 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.8 steals in 26 Greek League games last season. He has also played for AEK and Peristeri in Greece throughout his career, as well as for the Greek national team. Pelekanos shocked everyone in a 2005-06 Euroleague game against Climamio, in which he had 19 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 7 steals. He is now taking his wingspan, defense and all-around game to Real Madrid.
