Zukauskas goes back to Zalgiris

Eurelijus Zukauskas Lithuanian champs Zalgiris Kaunas announced on Wednesday the comeback of veteran big man Eurelijus Zukauskas (216, 34) for the following campaign. Zukauskas arrives from Zalgiris archrivals Lietuvos Rytas, where last season he played 11 ULEB Cup games averaging 3 points and 3 rebounds all the way to the ULEB Cup Final that Rytas lost to Real Madrid. Zukauskas had already been in Zalgiris as he was part of the 1999 team that took the Euroleague title. In that stint he also won two Lithuanian leagues in 1998 and 1999 and a Saporta Cup in 1998. After that, he played in Italy, Russia, Turkey and Greece, always for big clubs like Fortitudo, Olympiacos, Ulker or Unics Kazan. He was also a steady member of the Lithuanian national team in the late nineties and was part of the team that won the gold medal at the 2003 European Championships.
