Siena brings back local hero Bootsy Thornton

Bootsy Thornton - Montepaschi Siena Montepaschi Siena announced on Friday that for its comeback to the Euroleague, it will bring back a familiar face to the Siena fans, guard Bootsy Thornton (192, 30) for the next season. Thornton arrives from Spain where last season he played with Akasvayu Girona averaging 5.2 points and 1.6 rebounds per game. With Girona, he won the FIBA Cup last year. Before that, he played with Winterthur FC Barcelona where he missed many games due to injury problems but was in time to be a main protagonist in the Euroleague Final Four played in Prague in which Barca fell in semis. Bootsy arrived in Europe for the first time in January 2001 to play with Cantu of the Italian League and after two years, he moved to Siena to join Montepaschi with which he won the Italian League in 2004 and also went to the 2004 Euroleague Final Four.
