A top performer in every country he has played in returns to Europe with the announcement on Sunday that Tau Ceramica has signed forward Pete Mickeal for next season. Mickeal (197, 29) was the dominant performer of the 2004-05 ULEB Cup elimination rounds with Makedonikos of Greece, going so far as to become the top scorer in the competition's title game, albeit in a losing cause to Lietuvos Rytas of Lithuania. In six games only that season with Makedonikos, Mickeal averaged 21.5 points and 8 rebounds. He subsequently played a season with Lugo of the Spanish League, averaging 19 points and 7.3 rebounds, before moving last season to Taegu Tongyang Orions in South Korea. Prior to his ULEB Cup season with Makedonikos, Mickeal had played for another Greek team, Peristeri, as well as the University of Cincinnati.
