Brose Baskets inks veteran forward Okulaja

Ademola Okulaja German Champion Brose Baskets Bamberg announced on Thursday that veteran forward Ademola Okulaja has accepted a two-year contract to join the team. Okulaja (206, 32) will be introduced at a press conference on Friday. The German national team player arrives from Russian side BC Khimki, where he averaged 7.6 points and 4.5 rebounds in 12 ULEB Cup appearances. He also has past Euroleague experience in the colors of Unicaja Malaga and Barcelona. Okulaja has had a rich and varied international career, which began with four seasons of college basketball at the famed University of North Carolina. At the end of his senior season there, Okulaja was named the TarHeels' team MVP and to the All-Atlantic Coast Conference first team. Since returning to Europe, Okulaja has played in Germany for Alba Berlin and RheinEnergie Cologne, in Spain for CB Girona, Barcelona, Unicaja,Valencia BC and Etosa Alicante, in Italy for Benetton Treviso and in Russia for Khimki. Among his career highlights are winning the 1995 Korac Cup and the 2000 German championship with Alba Berlin and the bronze medal at the 2002 World Championships with the German national team. Okulaja also represented Germany at the 1995, 1997, 1999, 2001 and 2003 European Championships and the 2006 World Championships.
