One of the top young point guard talents in the world has found a new home in the Euroleague with the announcement that Roko-Leni Ukic has joined Virtus Roma for the coming season. Ukic (196, 23), currently playing with the Croatian national team under Roma coach Jasmin Repesa, will join his third Euroleague team in as many seasons. He debuted with Tau Ceramica two years ago, averaging 4.4 points and 1.9 assists in 14 minutes per game. He then played last season for F.C. Barcelona, averaging 5.1 points and 2 assists in 16 minutes per game. Ukic combines good size, great ballhandling skills and nifty passing with his specialty of getting to the basket whenever necessary in one-on-one situations. He began his career with his hometown club, KK Split, where he played five seasons, winning the Croatian title in 2003. In his only ULEB Cup season with Split, Ukic put up 13.3 points, 4.9 assists and 3.4 rebounds per game. Ukic also was European junior champion with Croatia in 2002.
