Prokom signs point guard Wagner
Prokom Trefl Sopot has completed its roster for the 2007-08 season with the addition of combo guard Dajuan Wagner, who inked a one-year deal with the perennial Polish League champion. Wagner (185, 24) has been severely slowed by numerous injuries in the last three seasons, in which he only managed to play a total of 12 official games. Wagner had suffered from colitis, or inflammation of the colon, and had his entire colon removed in October 2005. Before that, Wagner was a high school superstar in New Jersey, averaging 42.5 points his senior year, including a 100-point game effort. He then joined the University of Memphis, averaging 21.1 points in his freshman year right before heading to the NBA. Wagner, whose father Milt had a successful professional career in the NBA and Europe, was drafted by the Cleveland Cavaliers, and even though he averaged 13.4 points and 2.8 assists in his rookie year, health problems such as a bladder infection and colitis kept him sidelined most of the time. Last season, he played just one game for the Golden St. Warriors. He is now ready to complete a remarkable comeback with Prokom.
