Olympiacos adds size with Marc Jackson
Marc Jackson - New OrleansJust days after releasing one big man signed in the off-season, Olympiacos has found another, Marc Jackson, who will make a return to Europe after several seasons in the NBA. Jackson (208, 32) agreed to a one-year deal and arrives in Piraeus to replace Lawrence Roberts, who was released a few days ago by the Reds. Last season, Jackson played 56 games for the New Orleans Hornets,averaging 7.3 points and 3.4 rebounds while shooting 87.4% from the free-throw line. With the addition of the experienced big man, Olympiacos holds a fully-loaded frontline also consisting of Jake Tsakalidis, Giannis Bouroussis, Sofoklis Schortsianitis and Loukas Mavrokefalidis. After playing at Temple University, Jackson began his procareer in Europe, playing one seasonin Turkey with Tofas Bursa, then moving to Spain for two seasons with Caja Cantabria before debuting in the NBA with the Golden State Warriors, where he averaged 13.2 points and 7.5 rebounds. In seven NBA seasons total between Golden State, Minesota, Philadelphia, New Jersey and Charlotte, Jackson had overall averages of 8.4 points and 4.3 rebounds.
