Barcelona, October 22nd, 2007
. Euroleague Basketball is proud to announce the launch of Euroleague.TV, the new official on-line broadcast platform/service that will allow fans worldwide to enjoy the best of professional basketball in Europe both live and on-demand.
The pioneering Euroleague.TV initiative, developed in partnership with Infront Sports and Media, sets a precedent in European basketball by making all Euroleague games accessible to the fans. Euroleague.TV will use geo-blocking technology to respect live broadcasts in the national markets of television rights holders, where applicable. Otherwise, subscribers to Euroleague.TV will literally be able to watch Euroleague Basketball whenever and wherever they please.
Indeed, any fan with a broadband connection will be able to choose from video packages of live games, highlights, weekly magazines, daily news, exclusive interviews and more. Euroleague.TV will offer a number of different subscription options as well as the chance to purchase viewing rights to individual games. Subscribers can also have access to the best of classic Euroleague Basketball games. Most importantly, for the first time, every fan who wants to watch a Euroleague game will be able to do so, either live or on-demand.
“We are very excited about this one-of-a-kind initiative," Euroleague Basketball CEO Jordi Bertomeu said. "We believe that using these new Internet platforms is the path to follow in order to reach a larger audience. Euroleague.TV gives all our fans the freedom to follow Euroleague Basketball from any place in the world."
