Week 7 MVP: Daniel Santiago, Unicaja
Daniel Santiago - Unicaja In a week when some of the top individual performances came in losing efforts, Unicaja center Daniel Santiago, perennially one of the Euroleague's most dominant big men, became Week 7 MVP with a 34 index rating, more than any other player in the competition. Despite his team's road loss at Efes Pilsen, Santiago led Unicaja with 25 points on 8-for-12 two-point and 9-for-9 free-throw shooting. He added 8 rebounds, a block and 8 fouls drawn to amass a 34 index. Unicaja finished the first half of the regular season tied for first place in Group B. It was also a big week for Qyntel Woods of Olympiacos, even though the Reds suffered an 86-84 road defeat against Montepaschi Siena. Woods had 20 points on 4-for-5 three-pointers, 12 rebounds, 3 assists and 4 steals to get a 31 index. Brion Rush of Chorale Roanne helped his team to get a much-needed 104-85 home win against Lottomatica Roma with 21 points on 3-of-4 three-pointers and 2-for-2 free throws. He added 5 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 steals and 4 fouls drawn for a 28 index. Four players tied for the fourth-best performance of the week, each with a 27 index: Marcus Brown of Zalgiris Kaunas, Marc Salyers of Roanne, Marc Jackson of Olympiacos and David Bluthenthal of Maccabi Elite Tel Aviv.

Individual highs: Marc-Antoine Pellin, Chorale Roanne, 13 assists!

Marc Antoine Pellin - Chorale Roanne Brown, the Euroleague's all-time top scorer with 2,119 points, also had the most points in Week 7,with 27 against Tau based on his 6-for-6 three-point shooting. Brown is 28th among overall scorers this season (13.7 ppg.), while Salyers and Arvydas Macijauskas of Olympiacos lead that table with 22 points per game. Pape Badiane of Chorale Roanne grabbed 15 rebounds in his team's home win against Lottomatica Roma. Badiane is 11th in the overall list (6.7 rpg.) that Mirsad Turkcan of Fenerbahce Ulker and Travis Watson of Armani Jeans Milano lead, each with 10 rebounds per game. Marc-Antoine Pellin of Chorale Roanne dished as many as 13 assists, tying the second-best mark ever in Euroleague history. The record still belongs to Tyus Edney with 14 assists when his team, Benetton Treviso beat Olympiacos 89-103 on February 5, 2004. Nikos Zisis and Elmer Bennett also dished 13 assists in the past. Pellin is also the assists leader this season at 5.6 per game. Charles Smith of Real Madrid collected 6 steals, 4 of them in a span of just 90 seconds, during in his team's road loss against Panathinaikos. Smith ranks fifth among stealers (2.14 spg.) as Montepaschi Siena teammates Terrell McIntyre and Shaun Stonerook tie for first place at 2.71 per game. Alain Koffi of Le Mans Sarthe Basket had 5 blocks, tops for the week. Koffi ranks third overall in blocks (1.57 bpg.), with Ksystof Lavrinovic of Montepaschi first at 1.86 per game. Watson, Badiane and Woods registered respective double-doubles this week.
