Week 9 MVP: Tiago Splitter, Tau Ceramica

One of the best young centers in the world registered the top individual performance in Week 9 to help his team take home an important road win. Tiago Splitter of Tau Ceramica became the Week 9 MVP with a 42 performance index rating. Splitter had 25 points on 10-for-14 two-point and 5-for-5 free-throw shooting in Tau's 69-85 road win against Virtus VidiVici Bologna in Group A. He added 12 rebounds, 2 assists, 6 steals and 6 fouls drawn to amass a 42 index. Right behind Splitter came Reyshawn Terry of Aris TT Bank, who busted out for 21 points on 8-for-9 two-pointers and 5-for-6 free throws in a 93-74 home win over Le Mans. Terry added 14 rebounds, an assist, 2 steals, 2 blocks and 6 blocks for a 41 index. Nikola Pekovic of Partizan Igokea helped his team to register an important home win against Chorale Roanne with 26 points on 11-for-18 two-pointers, 16 rebounds and 4 blocks for a 34 index. Kostas Vasileadis of Olympiacos and Ramunas Siskauskas of CSKA Moscow, each with a 28 index, complete the top individual performances of the week.
Individual highs: Chuck Eidson, Lietuvos Rytas, 28 points
Eidson was the top scorer of the week thanks to the 28 points he threw down in team's impressive road win against Maccabi Elite Tel Aviv. Marc Salyers of Chorale Roanne remains the Euroleague's regular season top scorer at 21.8 points per game. Pekovic led all rebounders by grabbing 16 in Partizan's home win against Roanne. Mirsad Turkcan of Fenerbahce Ulker is still the competition's top overall rebounder (9.5 rpg.) and needs just 6 more to become the first player to pull down 1,000 boards in Euroleague play this decade. Yotam Halperin of Maccabi Elite dished as many as 9 assists to lead the weekly standings in that category. Marc-Antoine Pellin of Roanne is the overall assists leader at 5.2 per game. Splitter not only became the Week 9 MVP, but also collected 6 steals, more than anyone else this week. Shaun Stonerook is now the exclusive leader atop the steals board at 2.44 per game. Boniface Ndong of Unicaja had 5 blocks this week in his team's road win against Cibona. Andrea Crosariol of Virtus VidiVici leads the overall standings at 1.88 per game. Six players - Salyers, Pekovic, Splitter, Terry, Sam Clancy of Le Mans and Marko Milic of Union Olimpija - registered respective double-doubles this week.
