L. Rytas brings in Vroman for injured Nielsen
Lietuvos Rytas Vilnius moved quickly to replace injured big man Matt Nielsen, announcing on Friday the signing of big man Jackson Vroman from Spanish side Akasvayu Girona. Vroman (27, 208) inked a deal for the remainder of the season. Vroman was a candidate for L. Rytas back in summer, but he instead signed with Akasvayu, where he averaged 15.8 points and 6 rebounds in 10 ULEB Cup games, becoming weekly MVP twice in last three games of the season. Before signing for Akasvayu, Vroman spent a season with Gran Canaria in Spain and played with the New Orleans Hornets of the NBA for parts of two seasons. The team is expected to release a player to create space for Vroman on the roster.
